Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What is PA / PU Tubing used for?
PA / PU Tubing is used for routing, insulation, protection or fluid-related assemblies when its material and structure fit the operating environment.
How should engineering select PA / PU Tubing?
Review media exposure, temperature, bend radius, wall thickness, installation space, movement and the final validation method before confirming a grade.
What information should I provide for tubing samples?
Provide size range, protected part or routed media, temperature, environment, required length, color, packing and document requirements.
What is the difference between PA and PU tubing?
PA (polyamide / nylon) tubing offers higher temperature resistance, stiffness and mechanical strength, making it suitable for rigid protective conduits and fluid routing. PU (polyurethane) tubing offers superior flexibility, abrasion resistance and kink resistance, making it suitable for moving or dynamic applications. WCW Flex offers both PA and PU tubing depending on the routing and movement requirement.
Can PA or PU tubing be used as primary electrical insulation?
PA and PU tubing are primarily mechanical protection and fluid routing materials. They are not primary electrical insulation unless specifically specified and tested for the application. For electrical insulation, use silicone fiberglass sleeving, heat shrink tubing or PVC insulating tubing with the appropriate voltage rating.
What applications use PA and PU tubing?
PA tubing is used in pneumatic systems, fluid routing, rigid protective conduits and industrial equipment. PU tubing is used in robotics, dynamic cable protection, pneumatic control and any application requiring flexibility and kink resistance. Both are available in corrugated and smooth wall constructions.
